Noting that Ankara intends to achieve a rapprochement with Egypt and Israel, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he will visit the Emirates next February at the head of a large delegation.

In the most recent escalation of tension across the Taiwan Strait, Taiwan's Ministry of Defense announced that Taiwan Air Force aircraft had rushed again to warn and remove 27 Chinese fighters who had entered their air defence area, at a time when Chinese President Xi Jinping had met with his senior generals.

The Russian ambassador stated during an interview with British Radio Times, during which he said: "Yes, there is a risk of war due to miscalculation on our eastern border, which is the last thing we want and this kind of escalation must be prevented if it happens."

During the tripartite meeting with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the establishment of border demarcation mechanisms between Armenia and Azerbaijan had been agreed before the end of the year.

The Russian President expressed the hope that this would be agreed as soon as possible, while noting that "there are no obstacles to the establishment of such mechanisms."

The Vice-Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia would meet in Moscow next week to summarize some of the results and to announce the decisions that had been agreed upon.

In addition, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that Moscow supported normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia, stressing that this would contribute positively to the situation in the region.
