During an hour-and-a-half phone call, French President Emmanuel Macron, along with his Iranian counterpart Ibrahim Major, discussed the latest developments on the Vienna talks that resumed today in the Austrian capital between the group of 4 + 1 on the Iranian nuclear dossier.
The contact comes at a time of remarkable progress in the talks in Vienna, and the Permanent Representative of Russia to the international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, described today the first meeting of the seventh round of the Vienna negotiations to revive the Iranian nuclear agreement as a "major success."
For his part, the chief Iranian nuclear negotiator, Ali Baqri Kni, expressed optimism today following today's meeting in the Austrian capital, within the framework of the seventh round of negotiations aimed at reviving the nuclear agreement, stressing that the parties had agreed to focus on the issue of lifting the US sanctions imposed on Tehran.
It should be noted that Iran requires the United States to revert to the agreement, to lift its sanctions, to resume negotiations with Iran and to refrain from nuclear actions, which it adopted in response to the American withdrawal from the nuclear agreement.
