Ukrainian forces continued their campaign to retake Russian-controlled areas in the southeast of the country, and President Volodymyr Zelensky said his country's forces had "taken the initiative" after an earlier slowdown.

 

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with the head of the private military group "Wagner" Yevgeny Prigogine and leaders in the group, to discuss the armed rebellion that they tried to carry out against senior army commanders

 

 

The Egyptian presidency said today that Egypt will host a summit of Sudan's neighboring countries next Thursday to discuss ways to end the conflict in the country and its negative repercussions on neighboring countries.

 

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said Sunday that next month's BRICS summit, which Vladimir Putin has been invited to, will be held in-person despite an arrest warrant on the Russian leader.

 

A senior commander of the Wagner group was quoted as saying that the mercenary fighters of the group, led by Yevgeny Prigogine, are preparing to move to Belarus under the terms of an agreement to defuse their rebellion against the Russian military leadership.
