A United Nations-brokered agreement in Istanbul last week aimed at easing the food crisis and lowering global grain prices that have risen since the start of Russia's military operation in Ukraine.

In another setback, the US administration led by Joe Biden hoped OPEC could increase production to offset Russian supply disruptions and slow rising fuel costs and inflation by its broader standards, Reuters reports.

Energy experts argue that the Ukrainian crisis has pushed the gas weapon to play a major role in building diplomatic relations between gas-producing countries and European countries that are seeking alternatives to Russian gas in every way.

With almost no margins of movement for European countries to compensate for Russian gas, the Europeans are afraid of Russia's vague policy on gas supply, especially since the time factor pressures them, winter usually falls early in European countries.

Following an accident on the Spanish side of the Medgas offshore pipeline linking Algeria with Spain, caused by a temporary interruption of the supply of Algerian gas to Spain, the Algerian Oil and Gas Group announced the temporary suspension of Algerian gas delivery to Spain due to the incident on the Spanish side
