Following an accident on the Spanish side of the Medgas offshore pipeline linking Algeria with Spain, caused by a temporary interruption of the supply of Algerian gas to Spain, the Algerian Oil and Gas Group announced the temporary suspension of Algerian gas delivery to Spain due to the incident on the Spanish side

"Spanish technical teams are working hard to make the necessary repairs and return the gas supply to Spain as soon as possible," Sonatrke continued.

In turn, Inagas, the operator of the Spanish gas network, confirmed in a statement that "gas flow to Spain from Algeria through Medgas has not stopped today at any time", but has diminished.

The group explained that at noon, according to information received from Medgas, a two-hour time break was recorded for pumping from the plant in Algeria, resulting in a decrease rather than a break in the quantities flowing into Spain, noting that the minimum flow was 704,000 Nm/h

The group stated that the security system had not been affected and that there was no technical reason for such an order, noting that the problem had been resolved and that the flow was returning to normal status.
