Panamanian Health Minister Luis Sucre confirmed, on Friday, that his country will this week re-impose health measures that require men and women to shop on different days during the New Year's season.

This decision comes within the framework of combating the spread of the Corona virus, after the high rates of infection with this virus in the country.

Sucre indicated during a televised statement that "starting next Monday, in order to reduce mobility, shopping will be based on gender."

It will also impose a complete quarantine on both sexes on Christmas and New Year's Day.

It is worth noting that, last Thursday, the health authorities in Panama recorded 3348 new cases of coronavirus and 42 deaths due to this virus, in a record daily increase in the number of infections and deaths.

Last June, the authorities in Panama imposed health restrictions similar to the new health measures in the regions most affected by the epidemic.
