On Friday, a US Supreme Court judge ordered that ballots that arrived after Election Day on November 3 be processed separately in Pennsylvania, achieving a minor victory for Donald Trump.

But Judge Samuel Alito did not fulfill the Republican request to stop counting cards that were set aside based on his decision, as he wanted the Republican camp that could not lose this key mandate for Trump to remain in the White House.

Trump does not stop condemning ballot papers by mail, considering that they lead to widespread fraud, without providing evidence of this.

The Pennsylvania election law allows for ballot papers to be mailed to count through Tuesday and arrive within three days after the election.

And confirms Judge Alito's decision, which was issued by the local authorities before the poll to sort these cards separately, in order to be able to deduct them from the total in case of invalidation.

The request was submitted by the state Republican Party, which saw that the cards, which represent 4,000 votes, according to CNN, and most of them in favor of Biden, are invalid.

"Given the results of the November 3, 2020 elections, the vote in Pennsylvania may determine the next president of the United States," he said in his request.

Republicans added that it was "unclear whether the 67 districts (belonging to the state) handled these overdue cards separately."

The Republican petition did not contain any evidence that the ballot papers in question were not currently being separated, but indicated that in the absence of interference from the Supreme Court, the specialized state authorities could change the directions provided to the election boards of the 67 counties.

The chief election officer in the state, Cathy Bokfar, ruled out, in statements to CNN, that these cards would affect the result.

Republicans fought for months against the state’s decision to accept ballot papers through the mail that were stamped on November 3 and arrive within a maximum of three days from Election Day, meaning Friday.

The decision issued by Judge Samuel Alito is conservative, pending the examination of the file by the Supreme Court in its entirety, and most of them are Republicans.

In the event that the court accepts the case, the results of the counting of ballot papers received after Election Day may be nullified, but this may not change anything in the election results, as it is possible that the number of papers in question will be less than the votes that Biden presents against Trump.
