More than 94 million American voters voted early in the country's general elections on Tuesday, according to a tally by the US Elections Project portal at the University of Florida.

The census indicated that the number of those who voted reached 94 million and 6161, of whom 34 million and 45,137 personally attended the polling stations, and 59 million and 961 024 mailed to them.

The high number of early voting, which exceeded more than two-thirds of all participants in the 2016 election, reflects the intense interest in the election being contested by incumbent Republican President Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Joe Biden, former Vice President Barack Obama.

Fears of being infected with the Coronavirus in polling places that will be crowded tomorrow, Tuesday, have led to an increase in the number of people who vote by mail, or by themselves at early polling sites.

Opinion polls show Trump retreating before Biden nationwide, and even in states that will decide the election result, but the outcome is still not decided in any way.
