The guard is 21-year-old Jack Teixeira, according to the New York Times, which reported that he is the leader of an online gaming group where a collection of secret documents was published.

Some background: the FBI has narrowed down the number of people it believes may be responsible for the leaks and has conducted interviews in recent days, two people familiar with the matter said earlier.

While there are a large number of people who have had access to the documents, the investigators have had access to a small number for close scrutiny, thanks to the forensic path left by the person who published the documents. Investigators are working to build a case for prosecution, people familiar with the matter say.
