The Pentagon announced on Tuesday that 4 Russian fighter jets entered the US defense zone near the state of Alaska, without violating US airspace.

The ministry explained that it had sent fighter jets to intercept Russian aircraft, in an incident that officials described as a"routine confrontation" not related to the series of UFOs shot down by the United States in recent days.

The North American Air Defense Command said in a statement that the four Russian aircraft entered the US air defense zone on Monday and remained outside US and Canadian airspace.

She explained that two American "F-16" planes intercepted the Russian planes, approaching them to warn them.
