On the eve of the mid-term elections to the US Congress, which are of great importance, the new owner of Twitter, billionaire Elon Musk, on Monday called on voters in the United States to support Republican candidates
Musk, who has 114 million followers on Twitter, said in a tweet: "power sharing limits the worst excesses that can come from both parties, so I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, considering that the president is a Democrat.
Musk, who recently came under heavy criticism from Democratic President Joe Biden, added that "hardcore Democrats or Republicans never vote for the other side, so it is independent voters who determine the winner".
On Friday, Biden, commenting on Musk's acquisition of Twitter, said that the latter had bought a social networking platform that spreads lies around the world.
Musk has said that he plans to lift the ban imposed by Twitter on former President Donald Trump, but not before the end of the mid-term presidential elections, which largely contribute to determining the identity of the next US president in 2024.
Trump was banned on suspicion that he instigated last year's attack on the Capitol, carried out by a violent group seeking to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
