Following the FBI search of former US President Donald Trump's home in Florida, the White House on Tuesday commented that US President Joe Biden believes in the rule of law and the independence of the Justice Department.
White House spokeswoman Karen Jean-Pierre told reporters that Biden was not aware in advance of the break-in at Trump's home, noting that he knew about the case through the media.
"The Justice Department is investigating Trump independently, and therefore no comment can be made on any ongoing investigation."

On Monday evening, former US President Donald Trump said the FBI had raided his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.
The raid drew the ire of Trump, calling the process "misconduct" by the prosecution, and that the justice system was being used as a weapon against him, pointing out that he had worked and cooperated with relevant government agencies.
Trump's son revealed the operation was part of an investigation into Trump's transfer of official presidential records from the White House to his resort.
