The official national media agency in Lebanon reported that the outskirts of the town of Kafr Shuba and the halta farm were subjected to Israeli artillery shelling and "more than 15 artillery shells of 155 caliber landed".

The "Reuters" agency quoted three security sources as saying that at least a rocket was fired from southern Lebanon towards Israel, and media reported hearing two explosions in the vicinity of the town of Kafr Shuba in southern Lebanon, while the Lebanese army deployed in the area.

The three Lebanese security sources said that two rockets were fired from southern Lebanon towards Israel, One landed in Lebanese territory and the other near a disputed area on the border, but there was no official confirmation of this.

However, the Israeli military said in an earlier statement in light of the news that it had not detected any initial indications of unusual events on the Israeli side of the border. "After the examination in the IDF, there is no incident inside Israel. Talk about an explosion behind the security fence near the village of Ghajar. Details are under examination".

The media also quoted a source in "UNIFIL" as saying that its forces did not monitor the launch of any missiles from Lebanon, and that it is likely that what happened was the explosion of an old mine.

This incident comes at a time when tension has been prevailing for days on the Lebanese-Israeli border, where "Hezbollah" militias set up tents in Kafr Shuba near the blue line, prompting a warning from Tel Aviv that it may remove them by force if necessary.

In this context, Hezbollah accused Israel in a statement on Thursday of " taking dangerous measures in the northern part of the border town of Ghajar, which is the Lebanese section recognized by the United Nations as part of Lebanese territory," including "the construction of a barbed fence and the construction of a concrete wall around the entire town," adding that the Israeli forces imposed "full authority on the Lebanese and occupied parts of the town and subjected it to its administration in parallel with opening the village to tourists coming from within the Zionist entity.

While he considered that " these dangerous measures and the great development is the complete occupation of the Lebanese section of the town of Ghajar by force of arms and the imposition of a fait accompli in it," Hezbollah called on the Lebanese government and the Lebanese people to "take action to prevent the installation of this occupation and cancel the aggressive measures taken by it and work to liberate this part of our land and return it to the homeland.
