After violent clashes that took place at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem between Palestinian worshippers and Israeli security forces, the Israeli forces stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and beat, expelled, and arrested hundreds of Palestinian worshippers, and did not take into account women, children and elders in a matter of concern, at a time when the month of Ramadan coincided with the Jewish and Christian Easter holidays.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to"restore calm and security" to the Jewish state by working "on all fronts," following a new escalation of tension in the region.

In a speech on Monday evening, Netanyahu said: "We will not allow the terrorist Hamas movement to establish its presence in Lebanon," stressing "action on all fronts," and also announced in his speech the retraction of his decision to dismiss Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, after he dismissed him last month following political differences.

"There were disagreements between us, even difficult disagreements on certain issues, but I decided to leave these disagreements behind, "he said, adding:"Galant will remain in office and we will continue to work together for the security of the citizens of Israel.

Since the beginning of January, the escalation has killed at least 92 Palestinians, 18 Israelis, a Ukrainian woman, and an Italian citizen, according to an AFP count based on Israeli and Palestinian official sources.

These figures include combatants and civilians, including minors, on the Palestinian side, and on the Israeli side, the majority of the dead are civilians, including minors and three members of Arab Israel.
