Tunisian President Kais Saied removed Trade and Export Development Minister Fadhila Rebhi from her duties, the Tunisian Presidency said in a statement on Friday.

The statement did not clarify the reasons for this decision.

According to the presidency, Saied confirmed this decision after meeting with Prime Minister Najla Bouden Romdhane earlier in the day.

The meeting focused on the general situation in the country and the need to prepare for the second round of legislative elections said the presidency.

According to the statement, Saied also removed the governor of Sfax from his duties.
