In order to draw up a roadmap leading to the holding of presidential and parliamentary general elections in the country, the commander of the Libyan National Army, Field

Marshal Khalifa Haftar, announced a "last chance", saying that the Army General Command was the first to call for "free, fair and transparent"elections.

In a speech on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Libya's independence, Haftar added that the armed forces are supported by the will of the Libyan people, recalling their role in fighting and defeating terrorism, and completed "today, eight years after the launch of the dignity project, the people cannot remain silent on the abuse of Libyans in light of the presence of political bodies that obstructed the elections," calling on the UN Support mission to Libya, in this context, to "shoulder its responsibilities" in order to resolve the Libyan crisis.

Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar responded to what was raised in the local media recently about the movement of parties for "separation", saying that" the unity of Libya is a red line", and that the Libyan army"will not allow encroachment on unity".

He continued, in a speech delivered to a crowd in Al-Kish Square in Benghazi, "on the 71st anniversary of Libya's independence, we have mercy on our fathers and grandfathers who founded the Libyan state," calling for tolerance and renunciation of violence, changing the media and religious discourse to unite the Libyan nation, and also urging all cities and regions of the Libyan west to engage in a Libyan - Libyan dialogue, to reunite the people

Haftar stressed the need to distribute oil revenues fairly without marginalization, considering that only Libyans are able to solve their problem and reach a single unified Libyan state.

The speech touched on the fact of the extradition of The Citizen Abu Agila al-Marimi to the US judiciary for alleged involvement in the Lockerbie case, where Haftar sent a letter to his family saying, "We assure the family of Abu Agila Massoud that we will not leave them and demand a briefing on the circumstances of his arrest," he added: "the Libyan people bear full responsibility for those who dispersed the Libyans and illegally extradited a citizen.
