Hours after Iraqi Kurdistan authorities announced the fall of ballistic missiles fired "from outside the border" in the vicinity of Erbil and the U.S. Consulate, Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced that it had targeted an Israeli "strategic outpost" in northern Iraq.
In a statement posted on their website, the Guards stated: "In the wake of the recent crimes of the false Israeli regime and our earlier announcement that the actions committed will not go unanswered, last night the Strategic Centre for Conspiracy and Malicious Acts was targeted, with powerful rockets from the Revolutionary Guards."
He continued: "Once again, we caution the criminal Israeli regime that any recurrence of malicious acts will be met with harsh, decisive and destructive reactions."
Earlier, Iranian official television announced that rocket attacks on Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq, had targeted "secret Israeli bases."
Kurdish officials said that dozens of ballistic missiles fired from outside Iraq targeted Erbil, adding that there were no casualties.
