After a team from Civil Protection entered to dig up the remaining 1.5 metres to reach the site where the baby Ryan was stuck, Moroccan media reported that the rescue of the young child who fell into the well last Tuesday afternoon had reached its final stage.
According to its correspondent at the site of the fall of the child, in the province of Chevchon, northern Saudi Arabia, the second Moroccan channel, "Dozim," reported that the horizontal drilling had been completed and that a careful drilling phase had been moved, which would be supervised with great care by specialists.
According to the source, Ryan's child rescue was at this very advanced and sensitive stage around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
It is noted that according to officials, the excavation was carried out very carefully in order to avoid any drifts and collapses in the soil, as this would harm Ryan's child as well as the rescuers.
After the lateral drilling was completed, one of my godfathers, nicknamed "Uncle Ali," exited the tunnel that was set up at the site.
The well-known digger's exit was greeted and applauded by crowds who had been hovering around for days to pursue the rescue, despite constant calls for her to stay away.
In anticipation of the moment Ryan's child was recovered, Moroccan security forces surrounded the entrance to the excavation site, with ambulances and a helicopter ready to transport him, once he was removed.
Drilling workers use metal channels to pass the soil out and protect themselves, while the competent authorities have put in place instruments to monitor any vibrations in the well area.
Earlier, a spokesman for the rescue committee said that "baby Ryan is providing oxygen and great hope for his survival."
"We are dealing with drilling with caution and caution," he added, noting that the process involved 11 drilling experts and engineers.
Earlier, Moroccan sources had revealed that new indications showed that Ryan was still alive.
The sources reported that rescue teams would reach Ryan in less than an hour, if the excavation continued at its current pace.
It should be noted that on Tuesday, Ryan fell into a deep well in a village belonging to the province of Chevchon in northern Morocco. Then videos went viral, Thursday, in which he appeared to still move slightly, sparking high hopes of getting him out while he was still alive.
