Days after the end of the largest American combat confrontation with ISIS since the end of the so-called succession of jihadists three years ago, US President Joe Biden today announced the murder of ISIS leader Abouabraham al-Hashemi al-Qurayshi, following an American raid in Syria.

Details of the US military operation against the ISIS terrorist leader have been uncovered by US sources. The circumstances of the operation have revealed an unexpected cause of death for the leader of the terrorist organization and his family.

A White House statement stated: "Thanks to the skill and courage of our armed forces, we were able to destroy Abu Ibrahim al - Hashemi al - Qurayshi - the leader of ISIS."

Despite the first news that US troops killed the ISIS leader, details soon revealed that he blew himself up before the US strikes.

A senior U.S. administration official said that Al - Qurayshi died at the beginning of the operation when he detonated a bomb that killed him and his family members, including women and children.

The official stated that the Qurayshi had used a hand grenade, and had not yet been confirmed if the leader had committed suicide, or had accidentally detonated himself.

The US helicopter attack, led by some US commandos, supported by helicopters, armed drones and attack aircraft, is similar to the October 2019 raid in which Abu Bakr al - Baghdadi, the former leader of ISIS, was killed.

US forces have supported a Kurdish - led militia in northeastern Syria, which has been fighting for more than a week to drive ISIS fighters out of an occupied prison in Hasakah.
