Following a fire at its headquarters, Nahda, Tunisia, announced this evening that "one of its militants" had died.
In a statement on its Facebook page, the movement said that a fire broke out this afternoon on the ground floor of its central headquarters in the Tunisian capital, the reasons for which are still unclear.
According to some eyewitnesses, the fire had resulted in the death of one of the movement's militants, as well as varying damage to a number of militants in their offices as a result of fire and smoke rising on the upper floors.
The Movement expressed its thanks to the civil protection personnel who intervened urgently to put out the fire and to rescue those at Headquarters.
She also wished the rest of the "affected militants" a speedy recovery, expressing her condolences to the bereaved.
Earlier today, a fire broke out in the office of the Tunisian movement Ennahda, and some staff at the headquarters tried to jump off the windows of the building after being trapped by smoke.
Local media reported a number of injuries among some of the movement's leaders.
