In his office in Khartoum, the delegation of the League of Arab States, headed by its Assistant Secretary-General, Hossam Zaki, confirmed that the Commander-in-Chief of the
Sudanese army, Abdel Fatah al-Burhan, fully committed the armed forces to "democratization and to protecting the gains of the Sudanese revolution and realizing the aspirations of the people."
The Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Army commended the important role played by the League of Arab States in supporting and making a success of the transition period and in addressing the issues of the Sudan.
For his part, in a press release following the meeting, Hossam Zaki explained that the delegation had conveyed an oral message from the Secretary-General confirming the League's support for the democratic transition in the Sudan.
The meeting had addressed several issues relating to the current situation. The dialogue had been serious, referring to the position of the Sudanese leadership of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.
Zaki stressed the support of the League of Arab States for the Sudan at all stages and closely monitored the democratic transition to safety.
