The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abd al-Rahman al-Assoumi, stated that the Arab Parliament was working apace through mechanisms that supported women's issues, their empowerment and the cause of gender discrimination, pointing out that the Arab Parliament was in its new stage of giving birth.

To pay close attention to women's issues and their empowerment in view of the challenges facing Arab societies, which require greater partnership in action and gender equality as effective partners in building societies.

"The President of the Arab Parliament," during his speech, confirmed the initial lecture of the applied diploma on "Modern skills in the parliamentary work of women members" launched by the Arab Parliamentary Diplomacy Centre of the Arab Parliament last week.

An ambitious programme to support and promote women's issues, in coordination with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), will produce a qualitative shift in the empowerment of Arab women, in conjunction with the positive phase of the Arab Parliament's effectiveness and remarkable activity with the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

Participants expressed their appreciation for the considerable and tangible effort of the Arab Parliament headed by the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel Ben-Rahman Al-Assoumi, emphasizing the importance of empowering women at all political, economic and social levels as decision-making partners.
