Against the backdrop of the new round of escalation around the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army has acknowledged that the Hebrew State is currently being subjected to rocket attacks unprecedented in its history.
Israeli army: We face the highest frequency of rocket fire on our territory: 10 dead and 50 wounded in critical condition as a result of rockets fired from Gaza into Israel
The Commander of the Israeli Internal Front, General Uri Gordin, confirmed at a press conference today that since the start of the current escalation round last Monday, Palestinian factions in control of the Gaza Strip have fired some 3,000 rockets at Israel, exceeding the pace observed during the 2019 escalation (570 rockets) and the 2006 Lebanon War (4500 rockets in 19 days).
In response to the question whether the pace was unprecedented: "I don't think so, and I offer it to you."
This follows the assertion by Ofir elman, a spokesman for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on his Twitter account on Sunday that Hamas had since the start of the current military escalation around Gaza launched 2900 rockets into Israeli territory, 450 of which landed within the Strip's borders.
Last night, the Israeli army had intercepted a new splash of rockets fired from Gaza into Tel Aviv.
