A spokesman for the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, Behrooz Kamalondi, was quoted as saying that an "accident" had occurred at a nuclear uranium enrichment facility in

the centre of the country, noting that this had "not resulted in human casualties or radioactive contamination," explaining that "investigations are under way to determine the causes of the accident and will be made public later."

Kamalundi said that "Al - Shaheed Ahmadi Rushin Complex was hit at dawn Sunday," at the level of the electricity distribution grid.

New packages of centrifuges banned under the 2015 Iranian nuclear agreement had been launched by the Iranian authorities in Natnins.

Since the beginning of July, a centrifuge assembly plant has been significantly damaged by a mysterious explosion. The authorities have concluded "sabotage" of "terrorist" origin, but have not yet published the results of their investigations.
