A meeting between Lebanese President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri did not result in an agreement on a new Government.
After the meeting, Hariri said that Aoun had insisted that his political allies should have a broken majority in the Government, which Hariri, seeking a competent Government, rejected.
It should be noted that before his departure, Hariri had fallen short of Baabda and, after a short speech, had handed over to journalists a list of ministers whom Aoun had refused to approve, calling on the people to judge the composition of the Government themselves.
