A spokeswoman for the Russian Investigation Authority, Svetlana Petrenko, announced that the young man who was arrested by the security services of the Republic of Tatarstan, on suspicion of killing 26 elderly women, has confessed to his crimes.

The crimes occurred between 2011 and 2012 in 12 regions of central Russia, the Volga River and the Urals.

And after forensic experts conducted more than 10,000 DNA-comparison tests that were found at the aforementioned crime scenes, it was discovered that one person was behind all the 26 murders of elderly women that occurred in the republic.

Radek Tagirov, 38, a resident of Kazan, was arrested after being suspected of committing murder. He works in the carpentry business and was previously convicted in 2009 of theft.

The spokeswoman for the Ministry of the Interior, Irina Falk, said that the person, who was arrested, is a thug who provides services such as maintenance of doors to retirees, and deliberately steals savings after the execution of his crimes and weaver.
