Witnesses said that Olga Khyginkova, who won the title of "Our Lady of Belarus - 2008" (Miss Belarus) was arrested while she was participating in an unauthorized demonstration in Minsk, the capital of Belarus.

Witnesses told the Russian "Novosti" agency that Khijchenkova was arrested with about 20 other people during the campaign of new security arrests, in which the security services responded to the opposition's calls for a "march for the authority of the people" in Minsk and other cities of the country, today, Sunday.

The "Lady of Belarus - 2008" had previously announced its support for the protests in Belarus since the authorities announced, on August 9, that Alexander Lukashenko (who has ruled the country since 1994) was elected president for the sixth time in a row.
