Fire crews succeeded in extinguishing fires that came on

More than 130 hectares in the heights of the albel in the municipality of Maurice near Marseille, southern France, where the flames, fanned by the Mediterranean Mistral winds, destroyed large areas.

Local media pointed out that more than 230 firefighters belonging to the Civil Protection Units of the "Bosch de Rhone" region, accompanied by 105 trucks and mechanisms, were able to eliminate fire foci and protect homes and residents in the fire outbreak area, where there were no reports of casualties. Firefighter Pierre dupuix confirmed that the fire was significantly complicated by weather conditions, especially the strong Mistral winds, the winds blew at a speed of 60-70 kilometers, sometimes reaching 110 kilometers, and the wind speed is scheduled to continue at the same pace for several more days,"he said.

As a precautionary measure, Civil Protection officers evacuated some residents and their animals to other areas for fear of new fire foci, especially since the wind movement is still active.

According to firefighters, the fire, which targeted vegetation, broke out at about half past five in the morning on Saturday, February 4, north of the town of Morris. Dozens of gendarmes were deployed at the scene of the fire, where they blocked the Municipal Road No. "D24" and neighboring municipalities were alerted due to the possibility of fire transmission.
