With the participation of more than three thousand officers in carrying out 130 raids in most parts of the country , including elite anti-terrorist units, the German authorities announced that they had arrested 25 people in several raids across the country suspected of plotting to overthrow the government.

German reports say that a group of far-right former military figures planned to storm the parliament building, the Reichstag, and seize power.

The detainees are accused of forming "a terrorist group by the end of November 2021 at the latest, which had set itself the goal of overcoming the existing state system in Germany and replacing it with a form of its own state".

The federal prosecutor's office said that the" conspirators "had already drawn up plans to rule Germany, which included the appointment of departments in the fields of health, justice and foreign affairs, and that they realized that they could achieve their goals only through"military means and violence against representatives of the state, and this includes carrying out murders".

German justice minister Marko Buschmann tweeted that a major anti-terrorism operation was under way and that they were suspected of planning an armed attack on constitutional bodies.

Justice Minister Marko Buschmann also praised the dismantling of the "suspected terror cell" and said in a tweet that it proves that Germany is capable of defending its democracy.
