At Fields, one of the largest shopping malls in the Danish capital Copenhagen, an armed man fired inside the large shopping center, killing several people and wounding many inside the center.

The Danish police announced that "several" people were killed and wounded during a shooting on Sunday afternoon at a large shopping centre in Copenhagen, the capital, before the attack was arrested.

Copenhagen police tweeted that major police reinforcements had been sent to the perimeter of Fields Shopping Center, one of the largest shopping malls in the Scandinavian region, located between the city centre and the capital's airport.

The authorities confirmed the suspension of the person accused of shooting in the shopping mall and said that he was 22 years old.

Copenhagen police tweeted: "A person in connection with the shooting was arrested at Fields Shopping Centre. We cannot yet provide further information on the identity of this person ".

Copenhagen Mayor Sophie Andersen, for her part, wrote on Twitter: "There are terrible reports of a shooting in Fields. We do not yet know for sure how many people have been injured or killed, but it is very serious ".

Photographs from the scene showed people fleeing the mall, the second channel of Danish television broadcast a photo of a man on a stretcher, and witnesses said people were crying and hiding in shops.

Activists on Twitter reported that the shopping centre was more full than usual, due to a concert by British artist Harry Styles, which would later be held at the center next to the complex.
