The Chinese Ministry of Defense published a video of its exercises near Taiwan, where the aircraft appeared during the maneuvers in the air, in addition to the movements of some naval vessels near Taipei.

For the third day in a row, Beijing conducted maneuvers around the self-governing island, coinciding with the deployment of the United States of America to a naval destroyer in the same area, amid a show of force from Washington and Beijing.

According to the published video, exercises simulating an air blockade of Taiwan took place, and the Chinese aircraft carrier Shandong also participated in the exercises.
China announced Monday that it had "successfully completed" its three-day military maneuvers in the Taiwan Strait, aimed at simulating a blockade of the island, which Beijing considers one of its territories.

The army said in a post on social media: "From the eighth of April to the tenth of it, the Eastern Command successfully accomplished various tasks within the framework of the war-readiness patrols in the vicinity of Taiwan and within the framework of the joint sword exercises."
The command added that it "fully tested the integrated joint combat capabilities of multiple military branches in actual combat conditions."

While the exercises sparked condemnation from Taiwan and the United States, which called for "restraint" with the deployment of a destroyer in the waters claimed by Beijing, the exercises, in which about ten warships and seventy aircraft participated, obtained tacit political support from Russia on Monday.

The Chinese maneuvers, which began on Saturday, come as a protest against a meeting Wednesday in California with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen and US House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

The Chinese military stated that the aim of the maneuvers is to simulate a "complete encirclement" of the island of 23 million people, in particular by imposing an "air blockade", according to the Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.

"Taiwan independence and peace in the Taiwan Strait are opposites," Wang Wenbin, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, warned during a briefing Monday, adding, "If we want to safeguard peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, we must firmly oppose any form of separation leading to Taiwan independence."
And the Eastern Region Command of the Chinese army stated that the aircraft carrier "Shandong" "participated in today's maneuvers" on Monday. China has only two aircraft carriers.

Over the weekend, fighter jets and warships simulated targeted bombing operations on the island.
