The Russian "Duma", during its plenary session today, adopted in its third reading a bill granting "Ross Commnadzor" the right to block internet platforms that discriminate against the Russian media.

And imposed the document, the description of "the owner of a source of information involved in violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms and the rights and freedoms of the citizens of Russia." The Russian General Prosecutor and his deputies, in coordination with the Russian Foreign Ministry, will be able to impose this status on every owner of an information resource that acts in a discriminatory manner towards the Russian media.

And the law, once passed, will include the Internet's largest resources - YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. And the Federal Authority for the Control of Communications, Information Technology and Media, "Ross Commnadzor", will have the right to partially or completely restrict access to information resources in violation of the said law, including the ability to slow down their traffic. Violators may face fines of up to 3 million rubles in the future, and amendments to this will be submitted to the "State Duma" later.
