Vietnam's state news agency said that experimental vaccination operations for volunteers with a localized COVID-19 vaccine began in the country today.

The agency added that the volunteers are being vaccinated at the Military Medical University in Hanoi.

The agency reported that, during this time, the Nanocovax vaccine produced by the Vietnamese pharmaceutical company "Nanogen" is being used.

In 2020, three Vietnamese vaccine manufacturers began tireless work to design and produce vaccines against Covid-19. And recently, they have all been tested on animals.

Earlier, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health stated that, in conjunction with the work on its vaccine field, Vietnam continues to cooperate with foreign vaccine manufacturers, in order to purchase its medicines, and start vaccinating the population in a timely manner.

Since the beginning of the epidemic in Vietnam, 1,405 people have been infected with the Coronavirus, 1,252 people have recovered, and 35 people have died.
