In demonstrations rejecting military rule, some 4 million Sudanese gathered in the streets of the three capital cities of Khartoum, Omdurman, and Khartoum, and more than 25 Sudanese cities and 50 cities around the world.
The protesters demanded the departure of Army Commander Abdel Fattah Al - Burhan, the restoration of civilian rule, the release of Prime Minister Abdullah Hamduk, and the detained ministers and politicians, and the restoration of the constitutional document in all its provisions.
These moves come 4 days after the declaration of a state of emergency, the dissolution of the Sovereign Councils and Ministers, and the exemption of a number of diplomats and officials.
Since Monday morning, many Sudanese cities have been completely paralysed, with schools, universities, government institutions, companies, markets and businesses completely closed.
Over the past three days, youth groups have laid barricades on the main and subways, burning tyres against numerous attempts by security forces to break into residential neighbourhoods in Omdurman, Khartoum and Khartoum, and arresting a number of young activists, amid reports of numerous violations.
Legal, professional and partisan entities are called upon to comply fully with the constitutional document, release all political detainees and immediately lift the state of emergency.
