The competition between Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of meta, and Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, has intensified in a battle to satisfy their personal ambitions, after Zuckerberg launched the social network "threads".

Even before the launch of this new application, which seeks to compete with "Twitter", tension was at its highest among entrepreneurs after Musk publicly challenged Zuckerberg to a mixed martial arts match at the end of June.

Although Zuckerberg is usually reserved to the point that he seems cold, the thirtysomething replied with approval. Contrary to his habits, he tried to resort to humor to mock Musk for the occasion of the launch of "threads", the platform whose number of users reached 100 million subscribers in less than five days.

Zuckerberg responded with an emoji showing a laughing face on a leaflet of the fast food chain Wendy's, which suggested he organize a space flight "just to annoy" Musk, who is also the head of the SpaceX space company.

Zuckerberg, who was addressed in the film "the social network", publicly criticized Twitter for not being able, according to him, to maintain a positive atmosphere in the platform, which he promises to strive to achieve in "threads".

Then Musk resorted to various means available to him, threatening "meta" to prosecute her for violating intellectual property rights, by employing people who previously worked at "Twitter", which "meta" denied and then directed his arrows against "threads" via "Twitter".

The South African billionaire tweeted the phrase "Zac ez a KAC". The word "cuck" (Kak), in addition to its verbal similarity with the nickname of the president "meta", refers to a person who is being cheated on by his partner, and in a derogatory way to a moderate or politically progressive person.

"It's strange to see these two very wealthy people slipping towards this verbal style," says University of Florida professor Andrew selebak, adding that "it's a bit crazy," Elon Musk's actions are "childish" in contrast to Zuckerberg's behavior.

But this difference between the two men is in the interest of the co-founder of"Facebook", whose reputation has deteriorated for years, as a result of what is said about his dry and rigid style of communication, as well as issues related to the use of" Facebook "personal user data, and the scandal related to the company" Cambridge Analytica " in 2018.

"These attacks by Musk have only served to polish Zuckerberg's image,"says analyst Rob Enderle.

Also, the "threads" platform added a lively atmosphere on " meta "and its owner in terms of its management style different from the management style of" Twitter " or in terms of its own features.

The new social network is currently enjoying a grace period that, although it may not last, makes it immune from any controversy. It provides a stable alternative for frustrated "Twitter" users.

Analyst Carolina Milanesi said:"the attraction to profitability is an issue that I can understand, but in the case of Twitter there is a rich man who is obsessed with himself, and his moral values are vile.

The rivalry between the heads of companies in the technological and other spheres is not a new issue.

However, two prominent figures in the new economy, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, have maintained for decades a relationship based on both contempt and admiration.

Rob Enderle points out that Steve Ballmer, who succeeded Bill Gates, "used to change furniture when people left Microsoft to join Google," and what happened between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg "is crazy," in his opinion.
