The rivalry between China and the United States has moved to a new area of competition, namely internet cables, which are considered a gold mine for countries that have the necessary technology to make small cuts in them and then install what can be called a "data vacuum cleaner" that intercepts data and redirects it to the security agency that wants that information.

China is booking its place in the global market for internet cables, and the United States is looking for obstacles, the reason for espionage fears imposed by successive US administrations.
This is what observers consider restrictions on China towards laying submarine cable lines using its political influence, but China was able to make a breakthrough.
The Chinese dragon has circumvented the American narrowing by building international cables domestically for many allied countries, and Chinese government-owned telecommunications companies have tried to shift their focus to regions that do not possess commercial and political influence.
Beijing's destinations were for Asian, African and Latin American countries.
In Asia alone, three Chinese telecom companies are leading several large cable projects, including two that will connect China with Singapore and Japan.
Chinese companies have also reduced the country's dependence on foreign ships for laying cables, not to mention that China has a strong point that it has been able to employ is to offer cheap prices.
On the surface, it looks like a competition between two countries for the laying of submarine cable lines, but in fact this step may cause a serious division in who owns and manages the infrastructure on which internet networks are based between different continents of the world.
