Four days before the 25th anniversary of her departure by accident in Paris when she was 36, a personal car of the late Princess of Wales Lady Diana was sold at an auction held

Saturday in Britain for £ 737 thousand. ($ 869 thousand), and the car put up for sale by Silverstone auction house on the North West London circuit, is a Ford Escort R-S-Turbo produced in 1985 in Britain.

After intense competition between bidders from Dubai and the United States, the 1985 Ford Escort R-S-Turbo will remain in Britain, where the winner, who has not yet been identified, is a resident of the Manchester area.

The vehicle was auctioned at an initial price of 100,000 pounds, but eventually sold for 650 thousand pounds plus expenses and VAT. The car was one of the most prominent exhibits at an auction organized by Silverstone Auction, on the Silverstone Circuit, 120 kilometres north-west of London.

Silverstone explained that Princess Diana was driving the car herself to walk around London, although she was escorted by a security officer. The Princess used the car from 1985 to 1988, and today she is in excellent condition and has travelled no more than 40 thousand kilometres.

The car also has a busy history, for example Prince William II in succession to the throne after his father Charles. It's black. Other Ford R-S-Turbo cars of this generation were white. Its ownership was transferred to a number of other persons before being fully renovated for sale.

In June 2021, another Ford Escort back to Diana sold for £ 52 to a museum in South America at auction, a model "1.6 Gia-Salon" model 1981 received a gift to mark her engagement.
