Chinese Ambassador Liao Liqiang in Cairo stated today that the opening ceremony of the 24th Winter Olympics will be held tomorrow at the Chinese National Stadium, and Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the ceremony and President Abdel - Fattah Al - Sisi will participate to announce the opening of the Winter Olympics.

Ambassador Liao Lixiang said that Chinese President Xi Jinping would hold a banquet in honour of foreign heads of State, heads of Government, members of the royal family and heads of international organizations, including Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi, who would come to China for the opening ceremony and hold bilateral meetings with them.

The Ambassador of China in Cairo noted that Ambassador Bassam Radhi, the spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, said in a statement that "President Sisi's participation in this huge global sporting event comes at the invitation of Xi Jinping."

In the light of the close and strategic ties between Egypt and China, the program of President Sisi's visit to China also includes summit talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

"The participation of President Sisi in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in China is the full embodiment of China's comprehensive strategic partnership with Egypt. It is also a living demonstration of the friendship of peoples between China and Egypt and between China and African countries.

The Chinese Ambassador continued, "We trust that the new face-to-face interview between President Xi Jinping of China and President Sisi of Egypt will determine the direction and give a strong impetus to the building of a new-age China-Egypt community of destiny."
