American Fox Press said today that social media platform Twitter has permanently shut down an account linked to Iran's Supreme Leader after posting a video that simulates the assassination of former US President Donald Trump with a march and robot plane.

The American Network added: "The account linked to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's website under the username KhameniSite leads to a page that says" the account has been suspended "after it was reported that he posted an animated video clip showing former President Trump being targeted by a robot and drone while playing golf in Florida."

For his part, Kian Sharif, a BBC correspondent, quoted a Twitter spokesperson as saying that the website had permanently banned Khamanhwa's account for violating its policy.

He added: "The ban comes after the account tweeted a cartoon targeting Trump for killing Slimani."

The video, titled "Revenge is Inevitable," begins with a snapshot of what is supposed to be Trump's home in Palm Beach, Florida.

Iranian media reported that the short video was in retaliation for the January 2020 murder of Kasim Salimani.

The video shows an American flag flying in the wind at a golf course, where Trump stands wearing a red MAGA hat and four other men, and then shows a remote - controlled mini - car robot hacking into the Trump Mar - a - Lago resort after security cameras were disabled by someone sitting in an office behind a number of screens.

Aerial footage from a marching plane is then shown approaching a resort as the robot shoots Trump at the golf course.

Then the tour operator hacks into Trump and someone else's phones, and a message comes out: "Slimani's killer and the person who issued the order will pay the price."

It ends when the marching plane flies directly over Donald Trump as he reads the ominous message on his phone.

The screen is then cut into black with a message in English and Persian: "Revenge is specific."

Slimani, the commander of the Al-Quds Corps of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, was killed in a US raid in Baghdad on 3 January 2020, targeting a car carrying him and the deputy head of the Iraqi People's Crowd Abu Mahdi, the engineer who also died in the attack.
