China and the United States today announced a joint agreement on climate change at the COP26 summit in Glasgow, confirmed that they would adhere to the Paris Climate Agreement to keep temperatures below 2 degrees, and agreed to accelerate the reduction of green emissions and carbon through joint work with other countries.
China and the United States have reached consensus on climate finance and nationally defined contributions in Paris, and will maintain a policy dialogue on renewable energy in an effort to reduce coal burning power.
