Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced today that the company intends to change the name of the famous platform to Meta as of today, saying in his statements: Starting today we'll be called dead.

According to press reports a week ago, Facebook plans to change its name to express its focus on building the concept of metaverse to indicate its ambition for fame in areas other than social media.

This change is likely to serve as a pretext for eliminating the company's accountability, especially after the antitrust organization attempted to dismantle the company, as well as for declining public confidence in it as a female employee leaked harmful documents to the company and testified before Congress.

It should be noted that Facebook is not the first company to change its name in order to express new ambitions. In 2015, Google rebranded itself under Alfabit Holding in order to communicate to people the idea that Google is not just a search engine.
