The organization "Break Free from Plastic" (Break Free from Plastic) said that the multinational companies Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Cola and Nestle remain for the third year in a row the most polluting nature with plastic.

It is followed by Unilever, Mondelez International, Mars and even Colgate-Palmolive, according to a report published by the organization in early December.

The non-governmental organization added in its report that "the institutions that pollute the most of the environment not only failed to fulfill their commitments, which were already weak, but also began to rely more and more on environmental marketing slogans (greenwashing) to produce a mirage of sustainability."

The report adds that these companies had signed in 2018 the "global commitment to the new plastics economy" (New Plastics Economy Global Commitment), according to which they are supposed to reduce the volume of their use of this pollutant, but what is happening now indicates the opposite, as the reduction percentage did not exceed 0 , 1 percent between 2018 and 2019.

For its part, UP Magazine, confirming the continuing nightmare of plastic pollution across the world, said that the year 2020 witnessed the collection of 346,500 tons of plastic as waste in 55 countries thanks to the efforts of 14,734 volunteers. The United Nations says that 100 tons of plastic waste ends It ends up every second in seas and oceans all over the world.

It should be noted that the "Break Free From Plastic" movement, which includes more than 17 thousand organizations from various parts of the globe, was established in the Philippines in 2016 with the aim of uniting global efforts to combat pollution with plastic.
