Today, Monday, the Venezuelan authorities announced the opening of the commercial aviation route between them and Russia, starting from November 23.

He told the National Institute of Civil Aviation (affiliated with the Venezuelan Ministry of Communications), in a statement posted on his Twitter page, that the country is opening the commercial aviation route to and from Russia and Bolivia, in addition to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Iran, Turkey and Canada.

The statement did not reveal the name of the company that will carry out the trips, nor its schedule.

Last August, the Russian Civil Aviation Agency reported that Venezuela had mandated Conviasa to carry out regular direct flights from Caracas Airport to Moscow, after he told the Russian ambassador to Venezuela, Sergey Malak-Baghdasarov, that the two countries are studying the possibility of establishing a direct flight route between them.

It is reported that there were no direct flights between Moscow and Caracas before the Corona pandemic.
