The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced the success of the Egyptian archaeological mission operating at the mosque of the holy animals "Bobastien" in the area of Saqqqara archaeology in revealing the first and largest ecology of the site dating back to late times during the work of the fourth excavation season of the mission.

Mostafa Waziri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities and Head of Mission, said in a statement: "The discovered environment contains 150 bronze statues of various sizes for a number of ancient Egyptian idols, including Anubis, Amon Min, Ozir, Isis, Nefertom, Bastet and Hor.

. My minister added that the mission was also able to uncover a new set of burial wells in which a group of 250 coloured wooden coffins from the late age, about 500 BC, were found. The Egyptian official pointed out that the excavation works inside one of the burial wells discovered resulted in the disclosure of a casket with a good preservation paper that may contain chapters of the book of the dead. It was transferred to the restoration plant of the Egyptian Museum by editing for sterilization and hydration and study and knowledge of the texts contained therein.

The same discovery included two theoretically colored wooden statues, in a good state of preservation, of the goddess Isis and Naftis in the status of the statutes, as well as finding a burial from the modern state about 1500 BC. Archaeology magazine ranked this discovery as one of the 10 most eye-catching archaeological discoveries of 2020.
