Robert Lewandowski, winner of his treble with Bayern Munich, has presented the nominees for the FIFA World Player of the Year 2020, after the list was announced on Wednesday.
Lewandowski topped the list of scorers with Bayern in the Champions League with 15 goals, and in the German League with 34 goals, and he was the first candidate for the Golden Ball award before it was canceled this year for the first time in its 64-year history due to the Corona virus.
Despite this, the Polish striker still has a chance to win the FIFA best award during the award ceremony on December 17th.
The list of candidates included Egyptian Salah, who this year led Liverpool to winning the Premier League title for the first time since 1990.
Among the 11 nominees, the famous duo appeared Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, who have been permanent guests on this list in recent years.
FIFA also announced the presence of Thiago Alcantara, the former Bayern midfielder who moved to Liverpool this season, along with other players from the English champions (Liverpool), who are currently injured Dutch Virgil Van Dyck and Senegalese Sadio Mane.
He joined the list of Paris Saint-Germain duo and European runners-up, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, along with Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne, winner of the Premier League's Player of the Year award last season, and Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, who was among the most important reasons for winning the Spanish League title.
Bayern coach Hans Flick, the German and European champions, is among the top candidates for the 2020 Best Coach Award.
Flick will compete for the best coach award alongside Jürgen Klopp from Liverpool, Leeds United coach Marcelo Bielsa, Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid coach, and Julen Lopetegui, winner with Sevilla in the European League.
Fans will be allowed to participate in voting on the FIFA website until December 9th, and nominees for each award will be announced two days later.
