After winning the World Youth gold for sword fencing held in Italy

Egyptian player Mohamed El-Sayed expressed his gratitude for the wonderful reception he received after arriving in Cairo with the gold medal.

Mohammed al-Sayed also expressed his happiness at winning the first place in the Youth World Cup

In an official statement, Ashraf Sobhi, the Egyptian Minister of youth and Sports, pointed out that the coronation of the player Mohammed al-Sayed with the gold medal is a historic achievement, noting that Egypt is full of sports talents in various games and their constant pursuit of achievements in all sports forums.

The Egyptian hero said :

It was the strongest tournament ever, many matches in front of top players, the levels of all countries became close, so I dealt with each confrontation with full concentration in order to win and reach the final.

The last match has a special character for me, it is necessary to pay attention to all the small and big details, identify the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent, enter the meeting with good energy and try to manage all situations on the court well to control the course of things.

The source of my strength during difficult matches is my penchant for the way I defend against opponents, which happened in the Youth World Cup final.

I received many technical tips during the intermission minutes of the final match from my parents and coaches.

We should not forget the role played by the Egyptian Armed Forces Federation to provide the right climate to achieve great strides in the history of sports through the various camps and provide the tools we need to practice the game and technical devices that are characterized by great experience.

Al-Sayed had a long career in the Championship, where he managed to win in 5 matches in the first rounds before he triumphed over many outstanding players such as the champion of Ukraine, France and Italy on the courts of sword fencing in the Italian city of Udinese, which witnessed his victory with the golden touch during some meetings.

The master managed to win a lot of major tournaments, including:

Gold medal for the fencing sword competition at the Mediterranean Games in Algeria.

11 gold medals at the African Championships, the last of which was in Morocco last June.

Climb onto the podium at the 2021 Junior World Cup and win the bronze medal.

Qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and reach the quarterfinals.

Winning fourth place at the Youth Olympics in Argentina in 2018.

Despite the euphoria of winning the Fencing World Cup, al-Sayed did not stop daily training as he is preparing from now for the Arab Championship to be held in Bahrain next week, pointing to his ambition to win more tournaments as well as booking a ticket to qualify for the London Olympics early in order to achieve his biggest dream of snatching an Olympic medal on behalf of Egypt.
