After 28 years, Morocco repaid Belgium for losing to it Zero-1 in the group stage of the 1994 World Cup, and is close to repeating its achievement in 1986, when it reached the final for the first and last time in its history and became the first Arab and African team to achieve this.

Morocco's victory over the Canadian national team in the final match, in which it may need to collect only one point in order to qualify for the round of sixteen, and the current four points may be enough for it to qualify, will make it an extraordinary candidate to top the group and thus face a less powerful side in the round of sixteen in order to seek an unprecedented achievement in the history of the Arabs by reaching the quarterfinals.

By winning today with two clean goals, Morocco repaid the debt to Belgium 28 years after losing to it in the group stage of the 1994 World Cup in the United States.

The Moroccan national football team advanced to the final by defeating Belgium, the third of the last edition and ranked second globally, 2-zero, at the Al Thumama Stadium in Doha, in the opening of the second round of Group VI competitions at the Qatar Football World Cup 2022.

Morocco temporarily grabbed the top of the group with four points, a point ahead of Belgium, and three points ahead of Croatia, which later meets Canada, the last place without credit.

On the other hand, Belgium suffered its first loss to an African team at the World wedding and a fiery summit awaits it against runner-up Croatia in the last third round next Thursday, while Morocco plays with Canada on the same day.

Morocco stopped the record streak of Belgium in terms of the number of victories in the group stage, which amounted to eight equal to Brazil (1986-1994 and 2002-2010).

It is also Belgium's 22nd loss in the finals, with 21 wins and 9 draws.
