After selling 1.8 million tickets 5 months before the scheduled World Cup tournament in Qatar, FIFA has announced a new phase for the sale of tickets for the scheduled World Cup matches in Qatar from Tuesday.
In a statement, FIFA explained that this phase would start at 9 a.m. GMT under the principle of "first come first served", rather than by drawing the same as the first and second stages.
The new phase ends on August 16, and "this will give fans another opportunity to secure their seats in the biggest spherical show on Earth."
The International Federation added: "We urge ball enthusiasts to rush to book their seats to watch this historic event, especially since the number of tickets became numbered after 1.8 million tickets were sold 5 months before the start of the tournament, which could create queues if demand increases and supply decreases."
"The world's interest in this sales period is expected to increase after ball enthusiasts recognize the 32 qualifying teams for the 2022 Qatar World Cup."
Tickets will be offered in 4 price categories, and the fourth is reserved for "Qatari residents", each buyer can receive a maximum of 6 tickets per match and 60 tickets for the entire competition.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy of the Hassan Al-Thawadi World Cup had touched on 1.2 million tickets sold a week earlier and 40 million "standard" applications.
There are 3 million tickets available (2 million for sale and 1 million earmarked for the International Federation and sponsoring companies), and 1.2 million visitors are expected during the World Cup period between November 21 and December 18.
