Under conflicting reports some of them confirm their survival with the Red Devils, while others are likely to leave for a new destination, the blur continues to damage the fate of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo with England's Manchester United.

In the context of conflicting statements about Ronaldo's future with Manchester United, a source from the English club commented on reports of the star's departure from Old Trafford, with the British newspaper Mirror saying that a senior source within the club had informed her that "Ronaldo is not for sale."

The newspaper quoted the unnamed source: "Ronaldo is not going anywhere outside Old Trafford. Coach Eric ten Hague will rely on him next season. "

A report by the British newspaper Sun indicated that the Sporting Lisbon club left by Ronaldo 19 years ago is moving "in the shadows" to return the "Madeira missile" to its ranks next season.

The paper based its report on a statement by Portuguese club president Bruno de Carvalho: "I would like Ronaldo to end his playing career at his home in Sporting Lisbon. that represents a lot for us, especially if we take into account his good talk about us, and his expression on more than one occasion of his fondness for us ".

Carvalho added: "We are making a great effort to bring some players back to the club. We have done so previously with Nani who spent the 2014-2015 season on loan at Sporting, and we will repeat it many times ".

Ronaldo's mother Dolores Aveiro had previously stated that she wished her son would return to Sporting Lisbon, saying: "I told him my son I want to see you play with Sporting before I die."

According to press reports on Saturday, Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes met with new English club Chelsea owner Todd Bohle, who put forward the name of the Portuguese star.

Reports had also suggested earlier last week that Mendes had offered the 37-year-old to German side Bayern Munich because Ronaldo was disappointed that the club had not moved in the transfer market since Ten Hague was appointed United manager.

Reports also revealed that Italy's Rome entered the list of clubs wishing to include Ronaldo during the current summer transfer window.

There is one year left in the veteran striker's United contract, but last season's modest performance left the Portuguese star looking for a new challenge before apparently retiring.
