In a friendly international soccer match, striker Neymar reduced the gap with Jewel Pele to four international goals with Brazil, when he scored a two-penalty double that contributed to his country's 5-1 victory over hosts South Korea on Thursday in Seoul.

Neymar raised his tally to 73 goals, compared with 77 for Pele, the three-time world champion and top scorer in Brazil's history.

In front of full stands in the south Korean capital, Neymar's participation was a sudden staple, after he was hit by a foot in Wednesday's exercises.

Coach Tete pushed a strong line-up for the world number one, who quickly started pressing the host's goal.

After a pass by Alex Sandro on the left side followed by Fred from inside the area, she bounced back from the lucky Richarlison, who opened the scoring early (7).

French Bordeaux striker Huang Oye-jo equalised with a smart shot (31), but Neymar regained the five-time world champion's lead from the spot, after a foul by defender Lee Young on Sandro (42).

France's Paris Saint-Germain striker scored a double in the 57th minute tricking keeper Kim back from the spot.

At the end of the game, after coach Neymar (78) rested, Coutinho (80) and Gabriel Gizos (90 + 3) deepened the gap to 5-1.

He participated in the last three hours with Brazil, midfielder Fabinho and young striker Vinicius Jr., five days after the Champions League final between Liverpool English and Real Madrid Spain (0-1).

Brazil plays Japan in Tokyo on Monday, and South Korea hosts Chile on the same day.

Prior to the match, South Korean striker Son Heung-min was awarded a high honour by the South Korean president, after winning the English League top scorer's award with his Spurs team, equal to Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah of Egypt.
